The ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia.

The culture of ancient Mesopotamia is characterized by a high level of science, literature and art, with a clear predominance of religious ideology.

The ancient culture of Mesopotamia — Sumerian-Akkadian (from the names of the two parts of the territory, North and South). The oldest city of our planet, is considered the Sumerian Ur. Many sources show the highest astronomical and mathematical achievements of the Sumerians, their architecture is staggering – they are the first to have built the step pyramid. They created such innovations as prescription reference books, library catalogues, the first calendars.

About 3000 BC, the peoples of Mesopotamia knew the letter and could read. Scrawled on the stone, pressed in clay with the resulting signs, similar to a wedge, meant the whole word, or syllable.

The earliest manifestations of nostalgia for the architecture of the Gothic in respect of private buildings, but by 1820 the years, public buildings in England are also beginning to be designed in the Gothic style. Perhaps the most famous example of this architecture — new houses of Parliament (1840), designed by sir Continue reading

Say that Nikolaev is absolutely not an easy city. Sprouted from human bones, he hides himself in the bosom a lot of mysterious secrets that can’t leave indifferent even the bravest sailors ever entering this city. In Nikolaev mysticism is where to turn and to roam, to take into account the fact that many nikolayevets calm myself walk and do not realize that is stored, not so deep beneath the earth on which they tread. And there, believe me what did not, and Golden carriages, and Turkish treasures, and old catacombs, and forgotten cemeteries. However, sometimes I want to say that much better not to know – so calm! Sometimes it is very useful to know some details, so easy to sleep and think that it’s neighbors rustle behind the wall. Continue reading
