Hyperborea – a mysterious country

I thought that now a lot said and written about Lemuria and Atlantis. They were, they sank in different parts of the world, at different times. But there is another unexplored country which they say is much smaller and, oddly enough, even though she has not sunk, but we know very little about it. Was she actually? If was, where? What were the mores and customs? What kind of people lived in it? And a lot of other issues in which I propose to deal in this thread.

Mysterious Hyperborea

Hyperborea, a mythical Northern ancient civilization, the mother of all living peoples. A beautiful legend. No, not so. Hyperborea – historical reality. The perfect civilization, not knowing wars and gave rise to scientific knowledge about the world. There were some in our latitudes. Yes, both versions have supporters. I saw this at the scientific-practical conference “my Motherland – Hyperborea”, which was held recently in Apatity. Its initiators were made by the Murmansk regional public organization “New city” and the Commission scientific tourism Russkogovoryaschego society. Continue reading

Sunken ancient city of Kekova (Turkey) or Stage Time

This material is about the journey in the surroundings of the Lycian Worlds will be the final. We visited the ancient Lycian city in the World, the Church of St. Nicholas. Lycian rock tombs and the impressive Greco-Roman amphitheater. The final chord in this delightful in its content, the journey became a mysterious Kekova island and its sunken ancient rock city. The largest and most impressive in its impact on the traveler town of the island of Kekova is an ancient Dolihiste. This city is very small. We only know that it was built in the V century BC and was destroyed in the II century BC severe earthquake and subsequently partially sank into the sea… under the cut numerous photo Dolihiste through the prism of Time Steps, other flooded cities, breathtaking azure of the Mediterranean sea and my impression of sea voyages into Time and Space History. I must say that this trip was for me the strongest impression of all visited places in ancient Lycia for this day.

For full immersion in the historical context should be understood to begin with, where is the island of Kekova and what is its original link with the major ancient Lycian city in the World. Continue reading

Winchester Cathedral in England

Winchester Cathedral in England is a real miracle, born during the dark ages. The Cathedral is a very large building, built in the Gothic style. Start of construction of the Cathedral in Winchester was started in 642. Building built in that distant time, was called the Old Cathedral, which was subsequently subjected to multiple reconstructions. The result of the reconstructions of the Cathedral was its destruction in 1093, when the building is completely destroyed. And a little earlier in the year 1073 founded the New Cathedral, which decided to build on the site of the Old, because the latter was impossible to rebuild so that it meets the desires, intentions and beliefs of the rulers.

However, this change Winchester Cathedral is not over, because this amazing building was perestavali many times. But in the beginning of XX century the Cathedral was reconstructed, saving a unique Gothic Palace from the flooding and subsequent destruction. Continue reading
