Accustomed to think that the wooden Church is a unique and original phenomenon of Russian culture. However, it is not.
In large areas of Northern, Central and Eastern Europe in the Middle ages, these churches were built in large numbers. To our time the wooden Church known only in three regions of Europe: in Norway, Ukraine and Russia.
