The oldest extant European book
Which of the extant books is the oldest? It’s a complicated issue, given the fact, the very definition of the word “book” has caused a number of debates. However, it was recognized that the oldest book preserved in perfect condition, is the gospel of St. Cuthbert. This book is leather bound in red, written in the 7th century. In 2012, the British library of London paid her $ 14 million the Belgian congregation of the Jesuits. Its fully digitized version can be found on the Internet. The book is a copy of the gospel of John, written in northeastern England for Saint Cuthbert, and then placed in his coffin. The building is planned to open on 9 September 2009 simultaneously with the opening of Dubai metro, but the opening was postponed to January 2010 due to reduced funding by the developer. The exact height of buildings is 828 m (163 floors). “Dubai tower” was designed as a “city within a city” — with its own lawns, boulevards and parks. The total cost of construction — about $ 1.5 billion. The Burj Khalifa is a key element of the new business center in Dubai. Inside the complex there are hotels, apartments, offices and shopping malls. The building has three separate entrances: the hotel entrance, the entrance to the apartments and the entrance to the office. The Armani hotel and the offices of the company occupy floors 1 through 39 (except for the 17 and 18 floors, a technical floor).
